Many ford explorers and mercury mountaineers were manufactured with an option known as the ford keyless entry keypad. This gives the system time to reset or you won't be able to start your car. Some models refer to it as securicode as well.

Answer this question i have this problem too subscribed to new answers. Unfortunately, you have to take your car to a certified locksmith who works on cars or to the dealership. Try to crank it over and nothing. That fixed it for a day.
